The wait is over ! After making six appearances on the PSV bench this season without playing a single minute, Michal Sadilek eventually played his first professional game over the last days.
The 19-year-old Czech midfielder, named in the Maurice Revello Tournament 2017 best XI, has been handed his professional debut during the Dutch Cup game against Excelsoir Maastricht (4-0). He has been praised by his coach Mark Van Bommel for his strong display. “It’s wonderful to work with him. He is always giving everything whichever his position on the pitch or the opponent”, said the World Cup 2010 runner-up, who took part in the Maurice Revello Tournament in 1997.
Playing the Maurice Revello Tournament is not the only common feature between Sadilek and Van Bommel according to the observers. Most of them think that the PSV starlet is a similar type of player to his coach.
“Coach Van Bommel has been a great player. I saw some of his games and I think that I’m a player similar to him”, told Sadilek after his first game with the Eindhoven-based club.
Capable of playing as a defensive midfielder or in a box-to-box role, Sadilek seems to have the confidence of his coach who already worked with him during his time in charge of PSV U19 team. The Czech youngster could have some playing time this season with the first-team. The best way to improve some areas of his game and continue to follow the path of Van Bommel, who enjoyed a trophy-laden career, notably at Bayern Munich.
