The Maurice Revello Tournament 2019 will be held in Provence from June 1 to June 15. The twelve participating teams will be divided into three four-team groups. The three top teams of each group as well as the best second placed team (of all the groups) will advance to the semi-finals. Meanwhile, the other teams will play another game to determine their final ranking in the competition.
We are delighted to announce that Ireland will take part in the 47th edition of the Maurice Revello Tournament, seventeen years after their last participation (2002).
“Getting into the Toulon Tournament against the top teams, players are getting tournament football and it’s a great barometer for where you are”, said the head coach Stephen Kenny.
A number of famous Ireland internationals played the Maurice Revello Tournament in the past : Kevin Sheedy (1978), Patrick Bonner (1979), Niall Quinn, Steve Staunton (1989) or most recently John O’Shea (2000 and 2002), the former Manchester United defender.
