The 48th edition of the Maurice Revello Tournament will take place from June 1 to 14 in the Bouches-du-Rhône department. The format of the competition remains identical to previous years: 12 teams will participate in the Tournament and will be divided into 3 groups of 4 teams each. At the end of the group phase, the winners of each group and the best runner-up qualify for the semi-finals. The remaining teams play ranking matches.
Since the beginning of the current month, we have started to unveil progressively the Maurice Revello Tournament 2020 line-up. After announcing the participation of both DR Congo and Japan, we are glad to confirm that England will compete in the Tournament for the seventh year in a row.
The Young Lions, who will make their twenty-second appearance at the Tournament, are looking to follow in their predecessors' footsteps. England are the third most successful side in the Tournament’s history, just behind current title holders Brazil (9) and hosts France (12), as they clinched the title seven times.
Led by the head coach Gareth Southgate, the Young Lions won in 2016 the first of their three consecutive Maurice Revello Tournament titles !
Several current players of the England senior national team took part in the Maurice Revello Tournament recently : the goalkeeper Jordan Pickford (Everton), the defenders Ben Chilwell (Leicester), Michael Keane (Everton), Fikayo Tomori (Chelsea), the midfielders Eric Dier (Tottenham), James Ward-Prowse (Southampton), Ruben Loftus-Cheek (Chelsea) and the striker Tammy Abraham (Chelsea).
Next participating team will be unveiled next week on our site and social networks. Stay tuned !
