Maurice Revello Tournament Team of the Month for March

Each month, we select the TOTM featuring only Maurice Revello Tournament graduates who have shone with their clubs and/or their national teams. Let’s take a look at the players who stole the show in March.

Yassine Bounou (Sevilla FC) :

At 30 years old, the player who took part in the Maurice Revello Tournament in 2012 is in the form of his life. The Moroccan international (26 caps) did a series of solid performances both with Sevilla and his national team and even realized the dream of all the goalkeepers.... by scoring a goal in March! Indeed, Bounou netted the equaliser for Sevilla against Valladolid in the last seconds of the game (1-1).

Joao Cancelo (Manchester City) :

One of Manchester City's best players this season. The versatile Portuguese full-back confirmed his fine form in March for his club (an assist against Fulham) and for his national team (an assist against Luxembourg). This logically earns him another appearance in our team of the month.

Trevoh Chalobah (Lorient) :

If his start at Lorient was disrupted by an injury, the player on loan from Chelsea has recovered well and now can count on all his abilities. The England U-21 international is a solid performer in central defence and further up the pitch, and is a welcome addition to the Merlus side. One of the main asset for Lorient, as his team enters the final sprint to stay in Ligue 1.

Abdou Diallo (PSG) :

A month of March that the Maurice Revello Tournament 2016 runner-up will not forget soon. Back in PSG's starting line-up thanks to his solid performances in both Ligue 1 and Champions' League, the 24-year-old defender also celebrated his first international cap with Senegal.

Ben Chilwell (Chelsea) :

No defeat in March for the winner of the Maurice Revello Tournament 2016 and a return to his best level. After a tough period, marked by some disappointing displays and a spell on the Blues' bench, the England international (14 caps) has been at his best with Chelsea (an assist against Sheffield) and England (an assist against San Marino).

Wilfred Ndidi (Leicester City) :

The Nigerian international (34 caps) is having a very good season with the Foxes, and has once again shone in the Leicester midfield. While he has been crucial in the recovery of the ball, the 24-year-old defensive midfielder has also contributed offensively with two assists in the Premier League last month against Burnley and Sheffield United.

Sergio Oliveira (FC Porto) :

At 28 years old, the Portuguese international (10 caps) is surely at the best time of his career. The Porto midfielder has once again shone, particularly in the Champions League round of 16, scoring twice against Juventus to help his side reach the quarter-finals.

Rachid Ghezzal (Besiktas) :

With the highest number of assists in the Turkish League (13), the player who took part in the Maurice Revello Tournament in 2013 has improved his statistics with the Istanbul club by giving several assists in March, including one in the derby against Fenerbahçe. The 28-year-old winger also had a great game for Algeria against Zambia (one goal, one assist) on his come-back with the national team.

Daichi Kamada (Eintracht Frankfurt) :

The 24-year-old attacking midfielder was decisive in every game played in March, whether with Frankfurt or Japan national team. The Japanese international (10 caps, 3 goals) scored against Leipzig in the Bundesliga, while he found the net twice during the international break with Japan (goals against South Korea and Mongolia).

Steven Berghuis (Feyenoord) :

2 goals and 2 assists in 3 games with Feyenoord, 2 goals and 1 assist in 3 games with the Dutch national team. This is the record of the Dutch winger. No need to say more about the most decisive player in the Dutch league this season (16 goals, 11 assists this season in Eredivisie).

Luis Muriel (Atalanta) :

By scoring against Crotone and La Spezia in Serie A and against Real Madrid in the Champions League, the Maurice Revello Tournament 2011 winner took his total to 22 goals in all competitions this season with Atalanta. This is already the best single season total in his career at the beginning of April.
