The 2022-2023 season of the French Ligue 1 starts on this Friday. 76 players seen at the Maurice Revello Tournament previously will compete in the French top-flight
Did you know ? The 20 clubs that will play in Ligue 1 all have at least one Maurice Revello Tournament graduate in their squad. They will be 76 to play in the French top-flight this season.
We'll see familiar faces like Marquinhos, Presnel Kimpembe, Benjamin Bourigeaud as well as Andy Delort but Ligue 1 fans will also have the opportunity to monitor players who joined France this summer.
The most-awaited and most exepensive transfer is the one that saw Vitinha joining PSG. The Portugal new international have signed for France champions from FC Porto in a €40M deal. Another FC Porto former player will be monitored closely : Chancel Mbemba who joined Olympique de Marseille. The Congolese solid defender is expected to become one of the OM's key players in the upcoming months.
Meanwhile, some deals made between French clubs involved some Maurice Revello Tournament graduates. The OM all-time most capped player Steve Mandanda has been signed by Stade Rennais. During the same summer, Maurice Revello Tournament 2022 winner Hugo Ekitike has moved from Reims to Paris SG despite interest from several foreign clubs.
