During the matchday 2 of the Sud Ladies Cup on Friday, DPR Korea clinched their first win of the competition against Mexico (1-0). A fully deserved win for DPR Korea, as they get the best chances of the game and never stopped attacking. As well as in their first game against France, Sung Gwon Song's side firstly missed several opportunities and let Mexico alive. But just after the rest, Kim Kyong Yong netted the only goal of the game after a superb strike and has been named as the best player of the game.
For Mexico, it is a second loss in a row after they were defeated by Japan in their first game (2-3). Monica Vergara's squad couldn't bring the danger of their opponent's box and were forced to play in their camp. Nicole Perez and Alison Gonzalez tried to worry DPR Korea's defense, without managing to help their team to score. Mexico are now fifth and don't have the choice against Haiti on Sunday : they have to win.
