During the Matchday 3, DPR Korea earned their second win in a row as they clinched a 1-0 win over Japan. In windy conditions, North Koreans waited until the end of the first half to find the net as Sara Ito scored an own goal after a corner kicked by Ki Hwa Yun.
In the second half, Young Nadeshiko tried to equalize but they struggled to really threaten the DPR Korea defence except a shot from distane fired by Seira Kojima. Eventually, DPR Korea kept their advantage and are temporarily leading the Sud Ladies Cup 2019 with 7 points.
