The D1 Arkema, the elite of women's football in France, resumed last week and continues this weekend for the second day. This season, 27 players from the Sud Ladies Cup will be competing in the championship.

Will the Parisians manage to retain their title? Will Lyon recover their throne? Will Bordeaux and Paris FC confirm their last season? Will ASSE stay in D1? These are just some of the issues at stake in the 2021-2022 Arkema D1 season, which opened last week.

During the first matchday, the big guns did not flinch. OL won easily at home against Reims (3-0), PSG also against Fleury (5-0). Paris FC and Montpellier also held their own after defeating Guingamp (4-1) and Dijon (2-1). The first surprise came from Saint-Etienne, who held last season's third-placed Bordeaux to a 1-1 draw. The second matchday, which starts this Friday evening, already has two clashes in store. The Parisians travel to the Hérault to face MHSC on Saturday. Before a promising derby between Lyon and ASSE on Sunday.

This season, the D1 Arkema will once again be the playground of many players who have passed through the Sud Ladies Cup. In total, there will be 27 former participants competing in the championship. With four representatives each, PSG and Reims have the most.
