The Presnel Kimpembe’s astonishing rise since the Toulon Tournament 2015 !

Due to injury crisis, Presnel Kimpembe has been called up to the France squad for the first time of his career for the World Cup 2018 qualifiers against Bulgaria (October 7) and Netherlands (October 10).

This first call-up caps the 21-year-old defender’s astonishing rise since he won the Toulon Tournament 2015. Before winning the Festival, the Paris-Saint Germain was an unknown as he only played 14 minutes in Ligue 1 during a win over Lens (3-1) on 17 October 2014.

Despite his inexperience at the professional level, Kimpembe has impressed during the Toulon Tournament 2015 with his composure in the heart of the back-line. Alongside Stéphane Sparagna, the Beaumont-sur-Oise-born was brilliant and helped France to clinch the title. Also, Kimpembe has won the Toulon Tourmanent 2015 second best player award thanks to his performances.

After the Toulon Tournament 2015, Kimpembe has had more playing time with Paris Saint-Germain as he took part in 9 games in all competitions (8 as a starter) with Paris Saint-Germain during the 2015-2016 campaign. This season, the French centre-back continues to cement his place in the PSG’s first team as he has already made 6 starts in Ligue 1 for the France champions. Promising….
