One goal enough for England to beat Portugal

img

England start their Toulon Tournament 2016 campaign with a deserved win against Portugal (1-0). The first half was lively with a lot of tension on the pitch but we saw also some great chances for the two teams. Baker was the first to distinguish himself but his effort was stopped by Pereira. The same Baker tried his chance again two times but Pereira parried the two strikes. Just before the half time, Portugal had a big chance but the Gomes curved shot was deflected by Pickford.

During the second half, the Young Three Lions took the lead. After a number of missed chances, Lewis Baker broke the deadlock on the hour mark after being set up by Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who produced a convincing performance tonight. This goal was enough for England to defeat Portugal !
