CONCACAF U20 : USA and Honduras close to secure their place for the World Cup

Twelve nations from North America, Central America and the Caribbean region are currently taking part in the CONCACAF U20 which is held in Costa Rica from 18 February to 5 March. During the Matchday 1 of the final round, USA and Honduras earned crucial wins

Group A : United States 3 pts, Salvador 0 pt, Mexico 0 pt.

Unbeaten during the group stage, Mexico were defeated by United States (0-1). Once again, Brooks Lennon was decisive for the Americans. The Liverpool forward’s corner was met cleanly by Erik Palmer-Brown who scored with a powerful header after 28 minutes. This goal was enough to secure a crucial win for USA.
Salvador were exempt from this Matchday.

Group B : Honduras 3 pts, Costa Rica 0 pt, Panama 0 pt.

After three wins in as many games, Panama were outclassed by Honduras (0-2). After only 6 minutes, Darixon Vuleto gave the lead to his team as the Tenerife forward fired a powerful shot from the edge of the box into the net. Then, the Hondurans added another goal after 81 minutes thanks to Jorge Alvarez who netted a stunning shot from distance.
Costa Rica were exempt from this Matchday.

REMINDER : the two top teams of each group will qualify for the World Cup U20
