The group stage draw of the U20 World Cup, held in Poland from 23rd May to 15th June, has been made on Sunday.
The twenty-four participating nations have been divided into six four-team groups.
Argentina, the most successful nation in the competition’s history (6 titles), have been drawn in Group F alongside the Euro U19 winners Portugal. Meanwhile, the country host Poland will face notably the AFCON U20 runners-up Senegal.
It should be noted also that France will face Panama, Mali (AFCON U20 winners) and Saudi Arabia (AFC U19 winners) in the group E.
The competition is open to players born in 1999 or after. This World Cup U20 should be the opportunity to observe some players seen recently at the Maurice Revello Tournament : we think about the Mexican attacking midfielder Diego Lainez (Betis), the Japanese forward Hiroki Abe (Kashima Antlers) or the Portuguese winger Joao Filipe (Benfica).
