On Wednesday, the Maurice Revello Tournament made a stopover in Salon de Provence. For the last two group stage matches of this fiftieth edition, the main issue was who would meet France in the match for third place. The first match pitted Japan against Panama. Respectively fourth and third, the two nations could still hope to take second place. To do so, they needed a win and Indonesia to beat Italy. Panama and Japan played out a rather lacklustre affair, but it was Japan who finally prevailed in added time (1-0).
