Saudi Arabia beats Côte d'Ivoire by the slimmest of margins
Following Mexico's victory over South Korea on penalties (0-0, 5-3 on aggregate), the second match of the day had nothing fundamental at stake. Côte d'Ivoire, already assured of top spot in their group after the group matches, faced a Saudi Arabia side already assured of fourth place. However, the two teams had not come to Fos-sur-Mer for nothing, and wanted to leave with the 3 points. In the end, the logic of the ranking was not respected, and it was Saudi Arabia who came out on top, winning 1-0.
