Group A : Brazil 7 pts, Ecuador 4 pts, Chile 2 pts, Colombia 1 pt, Paraguay 1 pt
Thanks to their 3-2 win over Paraguay, Brazil are close to secure their spot for the final round of the competition. Mateus Savio and Felipe Vizeu, the Flamengo players, have scored both in this game as well as Richarlison, the Fluminense starlet. These three goals were enough to ensure a win for the Seleçao despite two goals scored by the Paraguayan captain Jesus Medina in the last minutes of the game.
In the other game, Ecuador were held to a draw by Chile (1-1). The hosts took an early lead thanks to Jordan Sierra but the Chileans have netted the equalizer with ten minutes remaining thanks to a José Sierra’s volley.
Group B : Argentina 5 pts, Bolivia 3 pts, Uruguay 2 pts, Venezuela 2 pts, Peru 2 pts
Peru and Venezuela shared the spoils (1-1). The two teams wanted probably a different result as both sides are looking for their first win in this competition. In the second half, the Peruvian midfielder netted his second goal in this tournament but the Venezuela’s captain Yangel Herrera leveled the scoring in the last minutes of the game.
Few hours later, Argentina earned a brilliant 5-1 win over Bolivia. Marcelo Torres, the Boca Juniors forward, is now the best goalscorer of the competition (3 goals) as he netted a brace. Braian Mansilla, Tomas Conechny and Lucas Rodriguez scored too for Argentina while Ramiro Vaca reduced the deficit for Bolivia after 71 minutes.
