Back-to-back for England ! The Young Three Lions won their second Maurice Revello Tournament in a row against Ivory Coast. Young Three Lions beat Ivorians after a thrilling penalty shootout (1-1, 5-3 pen).
The game was pretty balanced during the first half. Both teams had some opportunites to score. Elephants had two big chances on set-pieces England broke the deadlock by Brooks (ENG/18) at the 14th minute. Then, the English had the opportunity to double their lead. After an interception in the Ivorian side, Brooks (ENG/18) got a penalty but the Hirst's shot was stopped by Dante (CIV/16).
The second half was dominated by Elephants. The African side had the ball possession and a lot of chances, mostly at the end of the game. It was during the additional time that Ivorians finally came back in the game. Loba (CIV/13) scored an important penalty at 81st minute. The winner was finally decided on a penalty shootout. The English players didn't miss anything during the penalty shootout while Amani (CIV/10) missed his shot.
Thanks to this win, England earned their sixth Toulon Tournament title in their history.
