Ait-Nouri, Johnston, Gunn… The Maurice Revello Tournament graduates burst onto the international scene
Each international break is the opportunity for several players who took part in the Maurice Revello Tournament to make their international debut. Over the last days, some of them earned their first international cap.
Rayan Ait-Nouri (Algeria)
Four years after playing in the Maurice Revello Tournament with the French team, the left-back has decided to represent Algeria at the highest level. The Wolverhampton player was called-up for the first time by coach Djamel Belmadi during the international break in March and made his first appearance against Niger last Thursday (2-1), a match he started. Ait-Nouri and the Fennecs also sealed their qualification for the next African Cup of Nations with two wins over Niger.

Nathan Broadhead (Wales)
A first that he will remember for a long time. Called-up for the first time with the Wales senior team, the striker signed his first cap in the most beautiful way. The Ipswich man came on as a substitute against Croatia and scored the equalizer for his team in extra time (1-1). A dream debut for the man who played in the Maurice Revello Tournament in 2017.

Edgardo Farina (Panama)
Less than a year after his participation in the Maurice Revello Tournament with Panama, the defender has already joined the senior team. The defender, who started twice against Argentina (0-2) and Guatemala (1-1) in a friendly, celebrated his first two international caps for his country.

Angus Gunn (Scotland)
The goalkeeper had won the Maurice Revello Tournament 2016 with England. He is now wearing the colours of Scotland. Called-up to the national team for the first time, the Norwich City player made a perfect debut. He made two starts, won against Cyprus (3-0) and Spain (2-0), and won two clean sheets.

Michael Johnston (Ireland)
After playing in the Maurice Revello Tournament with Scotland in 2018, the attacking midfielder is now playing for the Irish team. Against France in the Euro 2024 qualifiers (0-1) and Latvia in a friendly (3-2), the Vitoria Guimaraes player enjoyed his first two caps, coming on as a substitute on both occasions.

Olivier Kemen (Cameroon)
He too has made the choice to join another selection than the one for which he played in youth teams. After taking part in the Maurice Revello Tournament with France in 2016, the midfielder decided to defend the colours of Cameroon. The former Olympique Lyonnais player was in the starting line-up against Namibia (1-1) in the qualifying match for the 2024 African Cup of Nations and celebrated his first selection with a goal thanks to a superb header.

Moussa Niakhaté (Senegal)
Like Olivier Kemen, the defender was also a member of the French team at the 2016 Maurice Revello Tournament and has chosen to continue his international career with another national team. It was in the colours of Senegal that the Nottingham Forrest player enjoyed his first two caps, and they were successful. The Lions of Teranga have already confirmed their ticket to the next African Cup of Nations, having beaten Mozambique 5-1 and 1-0 in the qualifying rounds.
