The Women's Euro 2022 kicked off on Wednesday evening with England's 1-0 home win over Austria. On this occasion, we find names discovered at the Sud Ladies Cup in recent years.
We go back in time to 2018, when the first edition of the Sud Ladies Cup was held. A first one during which the French team finished second out of four, behind USA. Three French players from this promotion will be present at the 2022 Women's EURO: Girondins de Bordeaux goalkeeper Mylène Chavas, voted best goalkeeper during her participation in the Sud Ladies Cup. Marie-Antoinette Katoto, top scorer for Paris Saint-Germain, but also for the French League in 2019 and 2020, and the solid left-back of Olympique Lyonnais, Selma Bacha.

That same year, Germany also participated in the inaugural Sud Ladies Cup. The Mannschaft clinched the third place, behind France. However, this position in the ranking did not prevent some talents from coming to light. Two players from Eintracht Frankfurt, defender Sophia Kleinherne and striker Laura Freigang, as well as Bayern Munich's Klara Bühl, are among them. They will all defend their country's colours from Friday against Denmark.
