Sébastien Haller, Yassine Bounou, Abdou Diallo… several players seen at the Maurice Revello Tournament few years ago are still in race to win the African Cup of Nations 2021, held in Cameroon.

32 Maurice Revello Tournament graduates have been selected to play the prestigious African Cup of Nations. After the group stage, there are only 20 to have a chance to clinch the trophy.

The group stage caused damages to some big names of the continent. That's the case of the Yacine Brahimi's Algeria which faced a surprising group stage exit. Same destiny for Ghana of Mubarak Wakaso which finished at the bottom of their group.

However, some nations met the expectations under the guidance of some Maurice Revello Tournament graduates. Ivory Coast were able to count of the efficiency of  Sébastien Haller (scorer against Sierra Leone) and the flair of Ibrahim Sangaré (who netted a goal against Algeria) to finish atop of their group. Meanwhile, Mali reached also the next round and their midfielder Diadie Samassekou played a key role in this qualification.

Some other players seen at the Maurice Revello Tournament have been in good form since the beginning of the African Cup of Nations like the Morocco goalkeeper Yassine Bounou who kept two clean sheets in as many games played or Abdou Diallo who has been solid for Senegal.

All of them dream about clinching the trophy on February 6 !
