A few days before the beggining of the second edition of the Sud Ladies Cup, from 8th to 18th May, here is an overview of the six participating squads. Ones are favourites, others are underdogs, but all will have the same goal : do their best and finish as high as possible. Today, zoom on Gabon.

Gabon will be the first African side to compete in the Sud Ladies Cup. The opportunity for Les Panthères to prepare the African Cup of Nations U20 which serves as a qualifying tournament for the next World Cup U20 held in 2020. They have another competition in mind : the Olympic Games 2020. In order to go to Tokyo next year, the Gabonese will have to pape five qualifying rounds.

This is while thinking about those events that the team directed by Jeanne Moussavou will compete in the Sud Ladies Cup. The Gabonese national team will be composed mainly of youngsters playing in the local league. The Gabonese players will have the chance, here in the south of France, to earn experience on the international stage and maybe convince the Gabon senior squad head coach for the future.

The Sud Ladies Cup gives us the opportunity to discover new football talent from all continents and we are glad to welcome Gabon for the first time. Les Panthères will aim to make profit of this first appearance in the competition to earn as much confidence as possible and show their worth to the world.
