Paraguay came from behind to clinch a crucial 4-2 win over New Zealand. Alan Rodriguez scored the opener for Paraguay but the unfortunate captain Alexis Duare netted…two own goals for New Zealand ! However, the South Americans’ pressure in the second half turned the game back their way as Anibal Vega scored a brace. Blas Armoa got also his name on the scoresheet in the last minutes of the game.

Few hours before, Mali earned a deserved win against Turkey (3-0). The Africains won the game thanks to goals from Djemoussa Traoré, Lassana N’Diaye and Fode Konaté.

In the other game of the group, Costa Rica shared the spoils with Guinea (2-2). Costa Rica took the lead twice thanks to Yecxy Jarquin and Andres Gomez but Guinea secured a point as Fandje Touré and Ibrahima Soumah scored for the Africans.

Group D : Brazil 6 pts, Spain 3 pts, Niger 3 pts, North Korea 0 pt.
