24 national teams are currently playing the World Cup U17 at India (October 06-October 28). During the quarter-finals, Brazil earned a thrilling win while Spain impressed again.

Mali-Ghana : 2-1

The clash between the two African nations, played on a waterlogged pitch, finished with a Malian victory. Hadji Dramé gave an early lead to the Eaglets thanks to his third goal in this competition. Then, Mali waited until the hour mark to double their lead : Djemoussa Traoré has benefited from two huge mistakes made by the goalkeeper to score the second goal of his side. Few moments later, Mohammed Kudus reduced the deficit but the Ghanaians couldn’t add another goal.

Mali can dream about playing a new final, two years after finishing runner-up of the World Cup played in Chile.

United States-England : 1-4

The Young Three Lions produced another impressive performance as they hammered United States. The Liverpool youngster Rhian Brewster starred as he netted a hat-trick : the English striker broke the deadlock with a close-range shot and then added a second goal thanks to a lovely chip. He has eventually found the net a third time as he converted a penalty. Meanwhile, Morgan Gibbs-White got his name on the scoresheet too while the Werder Bremen future player Josh Sargent scored for USA.

Spain-Iran : 3-1

Spain underline their title contender status with a dominant win over Iran. The Spanish captain Abel Ruiz shone again as he netted his fourth goal in this competition. Then, Sergio Gomez, his teammate at FC Barcelona, distinguished himself with a stunner scored in the second half. Few minutes later, Ferran Torres added a third goal for La Rojita before the Asians reduced the deficit through Saeid Karimi.

Germany-Brazil : 1-2

Brazil came from behind to earn a thrilling 2-1 win over Germany in front of 66 613 fans at Kolkata. The South Americans were close to take the lead but the Alan’s effort hit the post. Then, the Seleçao conceded the opening goal as the German captain Jann-Fiete Arp netted his fifth goal in as many games.

The Brazilians didn’t give up and were rewarded for their patience thanks to goals from Weverson and Lincoln.
