Cristiano Ronaldo is enjoying a highly successful career ! The 32-year-old Portuguese star has clinched his fifth Ballon d’Or on this Tuesday drawing him level with the FC Barcelona ace Leo Messi.

Already crowned winner in 2008, 2013, 2014 and 2016, the Real Madrid claimed the trophy again thanks to his impressive 2017 year : winner and top scorer (12 goals) of the Champion’s League, Cristiano Ronaldo has also won both European and Spanish Supercups.

Cristiano Ronaldo has come a long way since 2003, when he won the Toulon Tournament. At that moment, the Funchal-born was only 18.

Despite his young age, the Sporting Lisbon academy product was pivotal to the Portugal’s success as he started the five games played by his national team during the tournament.

Terrific dribbler, Cristiano Ronaldo has notably distinguished himself against England and the Argentinian national team led by Javier Mascherano.

The rest is history : his exploits have seen a number of English clubs looking to secure his services including Arsenal and Liverpool but Cristiano Ronaldo has eventually joined Manchester United few weeks after his heroics in the south of France. The turning point of a tremendous career !
