Two new members of the Colombian squad that took part in the Maurice Revello Tournament 2022 joined a European club : Bayer Leverkusen registered the signing of Gustavo Puerta while Daniel Luna joined Mallorca.
The Colombian generation which reached the Maurice Revello Tournament 2022 semi-finals is more than promising. As illustrated by the arrival in Europe of several of its members few months later.
After Jorge Hurtado, signed by Watford, two other players have been lured by European clubs. Colombia U20 captain Gustavo Puerta has penned a contract until 2028 with Bayer Leverkusen. “Gustavo Puerta is a very powerful player who has great potential as a number six or an eight. Meanwhile, Daniel Luna has signed for Mallorca, currently 10th in La Liga, on loan with option to buy from Deportivo Cali. “I’m glad to be here in such an important club, that’s a considerable step in my career. Joining Europe is a great joy. It’s a matter of pride to know that I’m on the right way”, said the 19-year-old attacking midfielder to the Spanish club official website.
Before starting their European journey, both Gustavo Puerta and Daniel Luna will help Colombia to shine in the Sudamericano U20, currently played in their country, which serves as a qualifying tournament for the upcoming U20 World Cup on May.
