A stunning Mexico defeats Saudi Arabia
On the fifth day of the competition, Group A was once again on the agenda. Mexico, who beat France on Wednesday, met Saudi Arabia in Aubagne. The Mexicans and Saudis had to win to catch up with Côte d'Ivoire in the standings. In a thrilling match in which both teams had their moments, the Mexicans proved more realistic and ended up winning 3-2.
